jecology.blog is the official blog of the Journal of Ecology.
Journal of Ecology was established by the British Ecological Society in 1913 and rapidly became one of the most important outlets for cutting-edge research in plant ecology. It has retained this pre-eminent position ever since and in June 2011 its highest-ever impact factor of 5.26 was announced.
The blog was launched as part of the celebrations for the Journal’s Centenary in 2012.
The Journal published a Centenary Special Feature in Volume 100, Issue 1 and the Editors are delighted to have been able to attract eminent researchers to write papers for the Centenary Special Feature on important ecological topics that have featured heavily in the published output of the Journal during its first one hundred years, and in which we believe significant progress is currently being made.
The papers, which were presented at the Centenary Symposium held at the British Ecological Society Annual Meeting in 2011, are free to download.
The British Ecological Society also publishes Journal of Animal Ecology, Journal of Applied Ecology, Functional Ecology and Methods in Ecology and Evolution.
The journals are published by Wiley-Blackwell and are available to read on Wiley Online Library.
