The story behind COMPADRE – Population Demographics Database

In the next Journal of Ecology podcast I interview a number of ecologists responsible for two databases of population demographics matrices (ComADRe and ComPADRe III), one for  plants and other for animals. Four ecologists were interviewed: Rob Salguero-Gomez (who currently organizes the databases), Hal Caswell (a collaborator on the project), and Miguel Franco and Jonathan Silvertown (who started these databases a few decades back).

The podcast is a bit longer than normal (~40 min.), but I think you’ll find a very interesting historical take on a subfield of ecology from some very well-respected ecologists.

As always let us know what you think in the comments section below or on Twitter @JEcology or @recology_
